Emma Meaburn studied at King’s College London and Imperial College before joining the Department of Psychology at Birkbeck as a Lecturer in 2010. Now a Senior Lecturer, she studies the biological contributions to neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive traits. To do this, she uses DNA arrays and next-generation sequencing strategies to generate genetic, epigenetic and transcriptomic data that can be linked to clinical, behavioural and cognitive outcomes in population-based samples. She is the director of the Birkbeck Research Into Developmental GEnomics (BRIDGE) Lab and a member of the management committee for the University of London Centre for Educational Neuroscience, and the Bloomsbury Centre for Genetic Epidemiology and Statistics. Emma also convenes and teaches several BSc and MSc modules (Research Methods, Genetics and Psychology and Genetics of Development) and sits on various academic committees.
