Objectives:
To trace the development of social cognition of typically-developing children and adolescents
To investigate individual differences, including gender differences, in social cognitive development
To study how individual differences in social brain function affect the schooling process and, reciprocally, how schooling experiences affect individual differences in social brain function.
Significant reduction in grey matter volume
in social brain regions between 4 and 21
years (Gogtay et al. 2004).
