Adult neuroscience studies have identified
the presence of multiple brain systems for
acquiring categories and concepts depending
on the content, format, level of expertise and
presentation regime of information to be learned.

Transdisciplinary question:

How does the emerging function and
interactions of these systems in children
constrain the impact of different teaching
methods, and children's abilities to generalise
what they have been taught?
